What This Metric Means

This calculator shows your MCA payment burden — the percentage of your monthly revenue that goes to MCA payments. It's one of the most important numbers to understand if you're carrying Merchant Cash Advances, because it tells you whether the payments are sustainable relative to your revenue.

How It's Calculated

The calculator takes your total MCA payments (daily or weekly) and converts them to a monthly equivalent, then divides by your monthly revenue to get the burden percentage. For example, if you pay $200/day in MCA payments and your monthly revenue is $50,000, your monthly equivalent is approximately $4,333, and your burden is about 8.7%.

Why It Matters

A common benchmark: if MCA payments (across all positions) consume more than 10–15% of monthly revenue, the burden may be unsustainable. At that level, the business may struggle to cover operating expenses, payroll, and other obligations. If you have multiple stacked positions, the combined burden may be significantly higher.

Limitations

This calculator is illustrative only. It doesn't account for seasonal revenue variations, the specific terms of your MCA agreements, or your other debt obligations. It's a starting point — not a complete financial analysis. The burden percentage is deliberately not labeled as "good," "bad," "safe," or "approved" because the appropriate level depends on your full financial picture.
